Tom Hiddleston will be back to play the titular trickster, Loki, but he will be in an entirely different reality this time around.
Given that the prime Loki already died during Avengers: Infinity War, the series will instead follow the alternate version who stole the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame.
The trailer above confirms that Hiddleston’s main mission is to help the TVA fix reality. On the surface, this means that the TVA is using the titular character to undo what he did, but it seems reasonable to assume that there is a deeper reason behind the villain’s recruitment as we’ve seen in both Disney+ Marvel shows that were released so far.
Loki is set to premiere on Disney+ on June 11, 2021.
