After almost 2 years of delays, Sony Pictures finally released the first Morbius Trailer. And I have questions!
If you don’t know who Morbius is, like me, this trailer gives you a surprisingly good idea.
Morbius follows Dr. Michael Morbius (Jared Leto), a scientist who acquires a form of superhuman vampirism when trying to cure himself of a rare blood disease. Despite (or maybe because of) his new affliction, Morbius still attempts to do right by the world, and becomes an extremely complicated and dangerous superhero.
This trailer also reminds us that Morbius is set in Sony’s other Spider-Man and Spider-Man-adjacent properties and movies. Michael Keaton shows up, reprising his role as Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming.
This does confirm that all these villains share a universe though, and that means they also share a connection to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Unsurprisingly, the trailer mentions that the movie will be released in January 2022 without a specific date. Will it be facing possible delays?
To summarize, the new trailer gives us the best look so far at Morbius: Jared Leto Goes Full Vampire, Name Drops Venom, and hints at MCU connection.
Dr. Morbius will see you now.
