Alex Rider – Season Two
Alex Rider is back! And I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the second season is way better than the original one.
Don’t get me wrong, the first season of the show was cool and everything, but it wasn’t that interesting or full of twists and turns. Yes, Alex Rider is still very british at its core, but I actually enjoyed binging the second season on a rainy Sunday.
Yes, the producers are jumping books and not following them chronologically, but I’m okay with that. At the end, it’s a teenagers turned spy action series aimed towards teenagers. Most of them are Gen Z and probably never heard of such things as books.
As for what happens here? Alex (Otto Farrant) is suffering from PTSD, so his guardian (Ronke Adekoluejo) takes him and his friend of a very british vacation. He meets a local girl, Sabina (Charithra Chandran), and someone tries to kill her dad. I’ll leave you to your imagination.
What do i want to see in a third season? More Kyra & Yassen Gregorovitch, way less Jack and Sabina. The chemistry just wasn’t there between Sabina and Alex. Just don’t force it. Also, Kyra was amazing as usual. Give her more time.
Should you watch it?
Fun, light action that is also easily forgettable. Just what you need on a rainy weekend. If you liked the first season, this one was way better.
Where can I watch it?
You can stream both seasons of Alex Rider exclusively on Prime Video.
