FIFA Uncovered is a very timely released documentary right before the World Cup in Qatar as it opens everyone’s eyes on corruption in sports.
If you thought FIFA was an honest organization, you are wrong. I always assumed that some corruption happened to give Qatar the World Cup. But I just didn’t know how bad it was. Starting with the mid 1970s all the way to the last announcement for World Cup 2026.
Starring an A-List cast of FIFA officials, investigators and Sebb Plater himself, the documentary takes a direct and honest approach to telling the story. Thankfully, the corruption is extremely well documented (Video and Audio recordings) that there’s not denials or “another story” there.
However, even when the documentary focused mainly on Plater and his involvements and dealings, the documentary series doesn’t hide its disappointment with the result of that investigation: Mainly the US investigators clearing the NGO of any wrongdoing and instead paying them money.
That event “accidently” happened right before FIFA awarded the 2026 World Cup to USA, Mexico, and Canada. Another coincidence?
Should you watch it?
If you’re a football fan (the original one not the American one), you should definitely watch this series ahead the world cup this year. Some of the rumors are just too documented to ignore.
Where can I watch it?
You can stream the documentary series FIFA Uncovered exclusively on Netflix everywhere.
