Firefly Lane – Season 2 [2022]

Firefly Lane - Season Two

Even though Firefly Lane lost some of its charm in season two, the Netflix series managed to still be a very human experience with lots of heart.

As someone who hasn’t read any of the books, I approached this show from a neutral point of view. However, as someone who really enjoyed the first season, I was kind of disappointed with this one.

Watch it, or don’t, you won’t miss much. What is sad about this season are not the deaths, or the conflict between our two main characters. It’s how annoying both characters got, including all their bad decisions, even when they were trying to be adorable. In fact, those events are what made it bearable to watch.

I really wanted to root for Tully’s (Katherine Heigl) journey of self-discovery and her way of coping with the trauma she has. I also wanted to understand Kate’s (Sarah Chalke) love for her daughter, but I just wanted to smash my tv for how cringy the whole season was.

To be honest, eight thousand episodes in, The Bold and The Beautiful can easily do a better story and production than this.

Firefly Lane – Season Two
Should you watch it?

If you enjoyed the first season, this one is just a continuation with an underwhelming “twist”. It might be because Netflix decided to extend this season and release it in two parts. We’ll have to wait and see.

Where can I watch it?

You can stream both seasons of Firefly Lane exclusively on Netflix everywhere.
