Canada’s favorite detective duo are back with the final season of Private Eyes.
As one of the very few Canadian productions for Canadian televisions, Private Eyes is a rarity. Yes, it doesn’t have the worldwide recognition of Schitt’s Creek, and that’s fine.
Starring Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson as private detectives, the fifth season of the show sets to wrap up the multiple storylines.
While we wait for the duo to actually kiss, we get some of the greatest plotlines of the show: previous cast members reprise their roles, new drama and new characters are introduced. Don, Jules, and Zoe get their stories sorted out, Danica gets her happy conclusion and Curtis gets to step out of his box. Love it!
That aside, it proved to be the most resilient scripted television program in Canada. No matter how long Global TV keeps it off the schedule, no matter what day or month it sneaks back, the show proved to be a ratings powerhouse. It’s because the formula work or maybe because its stars are very lovable.
No matter what the reason is, I’m going to miss Matt Shade and Angie Everett.
Should you watch it?
A fun light crime comedy enhanced by Canadian scenery. Private Eyes caught my attention early on. And I’m happy the way they wrapped it up.
Where can I watch it?
You can stream all seasons of Private Eyes exclusively on Global TV Canada. Global TV is also available on StackTV via Amazon Prime Video.
