Star Trek: Picard – Season Three [2023]

Star Trek: Picard - Season Three

The final season of Star Trek: Picard is what the show should have been all along. Yes, it’s not perfect, but it is certainly up there.

When the show was first announced, I was super excited. Even though Picard is not my favorite Trek captain, I was hooked. Sadly, the first two seasons didn’t do it for me. The stories were convoluted and forced. However, this final season (and hopefully they keep it this way) makes up for it, and more.

All the TNG cast is back! Fan favorites and not so favorites. The season takes you on a wild ride of fan servicing and favorites from a LOT of Trek series #NoSpoilers. In addition, we get introduced to a new generation, pun intended, that we will hopefully get to see helmed by the new captain ****. #NoSpoilers.

Nostalgia aside, the show made me think about where it fits in the Trek universe. If we consider it as part of the main universe, Discovery wouldn’t make any sense. If you consider it as its own universe, the 3 seasons are disjointed enough, that each one should be in its own timeline.

Should you watch it?

Universe aside, season three of Picard delivers the best follow up to the original run of TNG. It should have been what we were promised all along. Delete the first two seasons from your memory and assimilate this one.

Where can I watch it?

You can stream all seasons of Star Trek: Picard on Paramount+ in USA, Crave in Canada & Prime Video everywhere else.
