It’s time to wrap it up after this season of The Good Fight.
I can’t believe that I’m writing this, but after watching the fifth season of The Good Fight, I do believe it’s time to cancel this show. But sadly, it’s already renewed for a 6th and maybe 7th season.
If you didn’t know already, The Good Fight is the unofficial follow up to The Good Wife series starring Julianna Margulies. Or at least, it used to be. The first season was perfect. And ever since the second season, things took a left turn.
The show became more of a political satire on the American society instead of an actual law series with a side dish of drama.
However, some satire is great. And that was obvious with the amazing episodes in the third and fourth seasons. As for this season, it’s just bad. In addition, the show lost some amazing characters this season: Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo) and Adrian Boseman (Delroy Lindo). Lucca was one of the original cast members of this show coming from the previous one, and Boseman was a pillar of the first four seasons. During this season, it became obvious that their presence is missing. Kudos to the newcomer Charmaine Bingwa for playing the role of Carmen Moyo. She proved to be a great actress, but the writing of her character as a clear replacement for Lucca in the overall plot didn’t really help her shine.
Should you watch it?
Maybe. The show is still great in general, but the fifth season of The Good Fight felt like a free fall compared to the previous ones. For once, I’ll let the reader decide.
Where can I watch it?
You can stream all seasons of The Good Fight on Paramount+ as well as Amazon Prime Video in Canada.
