Tucci in Italy is clearly an almost carbon copy as his previous work with CNN in Italy. Yet, I enjoyed it as much.
Produced and starring Stanley Tucci, the show takes its star back to the land of Pizza, pasta, and culture. Tucci is a wonderful guide, innately curious, good-humoured and salivating.
Yes, when you say travel show, he doesn’t come to your mind. He isn’t exactly the most relatable or warm presence as a travel host, but he is thorough, and this show is a good continuation of the journey through the country that he started on CNN in 2021.
To be honest, I don’t care about him as much as the food and location. But It’s his enthusiasm for the people he meets, as well as the food he samples, that is truly infectious and delightful and keeps mem coming back for more.
Here’s a tip, if you really liked something, you can find it on google maps and add a pin. I basically built a journey in Italy from north to south just by watching Tucci’s two shows so far. Yes, lots of tourist places, but he’s also not shy about places that are very local and off the path of most visitors.
Should you watch it?
Italy, food and culture. What’s not to like? Head’s up, you might end up booking a trip by the end of the show.
Where can I watch it?
You can stream Tucci in Italy exclusively on Disney Plus.
