Film: Jurassic World: Rebirth [2025] – Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey

Jurassic World: Rebirth feels more like a departure from the iconic franchise, than a rebirth. It’s time for a complete reboot.

Starring Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali & Jonathan Bailey, Rebirth was supposed to be the start of a new trilogy for the iconic franchise. However, what we get has nothing to do with it. You can replace the main three dinosaurs (minus the last freaky mashup) with a dolphin, a giraffe and Big Bird and you’d still have the same movie.

Plus, the forced connection to the first trilogy, and the total dismissal of the second trilogy sounded extremely weird. It’s like the World trilogy isn’t a thing, and out of the blue, you have a weird R&D lab that was never mentioned anywhere. In addition, the whole premise of the movie is based on a Snickers bar being inproperly disposed of? Really?

To be honest, Bailey is the only reason I decided to watch this movie. Do I regret it? Not really. Do i care about seeing it again? definitely not. From the first useless 20 or so minutes that can be cut without affecting anything, to the fake sexual tension between Bailey’s and Johansson’s character that suddenly disappeared, the whole movie felt an over-engineered money grabbing mess. It’s not Madame Web, but we’re getting there.

Should You Watch It?

If you like the franchise skip it. If you prefer Indiana Jones, definitely watch it.
