Film: Street Fighter [2026] – Noah Centineo, Jason Momoa, David Dastmalchian

Street Fighter can’t exactly be called ‘good,’ but it’s PASSIONATELY stupid and it knows that it’s supposed to be. And that’s what makes it perfect.

Starring Noah Centineo, Andrew Koji, Callina Liang, and others, this is a campy stupid film based on the campy ridiculous game of the same name. While it can be too hardcore for casual viewers, the franchise has been a popular IP for decades, and there’s enough punters familiar with the game mechanics to supply a complaint audience.

Similar to the original IP, the film focuses way more on poses and campy scenes, and great fighting choreography and camera movements, over the “we’re here to save the world” storyline. And it works, because you feel part of the game, instead of watching a serious film happening.

Being honest, the film’s script is pretty bad, and the ending is ridiculously abrupt. It’s not winning any awards, or nominations, anytime soon.

But the cast is great and the movie is very high energy and visually creative. Fans of this type of material will have a great time regardless of the movie’s issues. Street Fighter’s biggest crime is being way too Street Fighter for a mainstream audience.

Should You Watch It?

Street Fighter is campier than Masters of the Universe, and the film works perfectly as a commentary on the source material, while also being super referential and fun.
