Andor - Season Two [2025] on Disney Plus

Andor tops itself with season two. Full on spy thriller based on human characters with lots of heart. Lucasfilm should take note.

After a perfect first season, Andor takes what worked there, the spy thriller genre with loose ties to the Star Wars movie, and tightens it up perfectly.

While the first 12 episodes covered a shorter amount of time, the second season covered a lot of events, and a lot of time, all the way to the beginning of Rogue One. And all the credit goes to creator Tony Gilroy

The folks behind this show should be allowed to take over the Star Wars universe. Their ability to advance so much plot in so little time with these densely packed trios only works by giving audiences the respect they deserve as far as knowing we understand the connections without needing them spelled out. No one needs an exposé about what’s going on, or should be doing homework to understand it.

Want to know what’s refreshing about Andor? It took almost 20 episodes, if not more, to even get “May the force be with you”. Andor Season 2 proves Star Wars isn’t just about the Jedi or lore, it’s about people, choices, hope, the grays, and sacrifice. A masterclass in structure, emotion, character building and mirroring.

It’s universe aside, I’m still kind of shocked that this show even exists considering the world’s political climate. It’s a show about rebellion against authoritarian regimes and fascism. Sounds familiar?

Should you watch it?

Andor doesn’t diminish other versions of Star Wars, but it does open up the entire universe to more thoughtful storytelling, should any creator want to pick up on it. Hopefully Disney will allow more shows and movies like this.

Where can I watch it?

You can stream Andor exclusively on Disney Plus.
