Criminal Minds: Evolution – Season 19 [2026] on Paramount Plus / Disney Plus

Criminal Minds deliver their worst streaming season so far. Season 19 feels like a mess that is only saved by people hyping a cameo by Connor Storrie.

This is one of the best shows on TV in my opinion. Or at least it was. When it got cancelled and then moved to streaming, they got the shakeup they needed and delivered one of their best seasons in over a decade. And then things slowly kept getting worse. Season 19 is the end for me.

While it starts with a good idea, and a new serial killer mystery, the show keeps going back to the same plot over and over again and trying to milk it. I’m so over Elias Voit or whatever you want to call him.

Instead of using any of the billion story threads they have from their cable run, the new showrunners keep treading the same plot over and over again, in a clearly smaller budget. Plus, it doesn’t help when your main actor is talking down to the fans and press that they need to appreciate the show more. Dear Paget Brewster, deliver something fresh, and we might just do that.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not asking them to go back to monster of the week. I loved the first season of Evolution, with the whole jumping locations, cross country serial killer mixed with killer of the week, that was genius. However, that’s nowhere to be found. The whole plot of season 19 feels like it needed 1 episode, but forced into 10, without enough “Criminal” minds.

It’s clear that they’re already filming the next one. I sure hope it has a cast and writer shakeup. Otherwise, this is becoming more like “Real Housewives of the FBI” and less like “Criminal Minds”.

Should You Watch It?

Is it time to cancel the show again? Maybe. It’s either that, or a showrunner refresh. Something is desperatly needed.
