Loot – Season Three [2025] – Maya Rudolph, Michaela Jaé (MJ) Rodriguez, Joel Kim Booster on Apple TV

With season three, Loot is starting to lose its mojo. A season that doesn’t know where it’s going and trying to play back previous plots.

Don’t get it wrong. I loved the first season and a half. Maya Rudolph and Michaela Jaé (MJ) Rodriguez, are basically perfect casting. They both make the show better, even when the script is basic and the plot is boring and makes no sense. Thing is, even if I am to consider this season as one long SNL sketch, it’s still boring.

I genuinely found the first two seasons funny. But this third season just feels like something is very off with the jokes. Comedic timing isn’t as good, writing is a little cringy, and the story line seems like a dead end.

Making fun of billionaires is cool. But 30 episodes in, it’s became annoying and, if anything, repelling. This season, the show finally decided to talk about race in a mini plot in 2 episodes. It’s a shame that most viewers won’t even notice because the show actually handled the topic well. Like better than they did with Billionaires this season.

Thing is, I really wanted to love this season. I absolutely love most of the cast, and the production value is off the charts. However, the writing bites!

Should You Watch It?

Great ideas this season, but the episodes seem drown in their own desperate desire to be funny/cool.
