Special Ops: Lioness - Season Two [2024] on Paramount+

Season two of Special Ops: Lioness needs a special opp. The show is still good, but definitely taking a wrong turn.

After a mixed first season, the second season of Taylor Sheridan’s Lioness improves on the first (not a high bar). There’s still plenty of shooting and other action, but at least now Sheridan understands that his stellar cast can do a whole lot more than grimace and hold a gun.

In this season, we got some character development for Joe (Zoe Saldana) and some of her team, Nicole Kidman‘s Kaitlyn Meade isn’t as annoying, and Michael Kelly finally gets to shine as a political and spy high operative. In addition, they finally figure out what to do with Morgan Freeman‘s character.

As much as i enjoyed the drama, the fights and action is as chaotic as ever. To be honest, the main plot makes no sense. It felt like it was written by a two year old to reuse the same sets. However, Joe’s struggle to balance her job with her family, Kaitlyn finally stepping to the ground, and Michael Kelly’s scenes make up for what’s otherwise a lackluster season.

Finges crossed they finally get it right next season, if they get a renewal.

Should You Watch It?

It doesn’t always make sense, but the narrative hums along. Even more chaotic than its first outing, but still as fun, when the action hits.

Where Can I Watch It?
