Sisu: Road to Revenge picks up sometime after the first movie. Different premise, same quality, replacing nazis with Russians.
This film is genius-level idiocy. Jorma Tommila is back trying to recover his family “treasures” from occupied land bank to Finland. And he gets interrupted on the way back.
For those who liked the extreme action, very bloody deaths, and massive explosions, this sequel follows its predecessor while ramping everything up. And if you didn’t, why are you here?
Each ridiculous and enjoyable set piece out does the previous one in absurdity, but writer and director
Jalmari Helander is so committed to the insanity of this franchise from the first movie that we never question the action’s believability.
In fact, I’d argue that this film is better than the first. It gets straight to the point. The first film was a bit too fits-and-starts with its action and carnage. This one certainly shortens that wait and never repeats itself in finding some great new ways to dispense of the bad guys. At a brisk 89 minutes, the film delivers nonstop action throughout its runtime, with no shortage of stunts or set pieces.
Should You Watch It?
Jorma Tommila is back with fewer words, and more action. There’s no hesitation, no philosophical detour. Just forward motion.
Where Can I Watch It?
