Movies
Quick movie, film, and documentary reviews from all around the world by and for the regular audience.
Friendsgiving [2020]
Not the best, and definitely not the worse. Friendsgiving is scatty, untaxing but not nearly funny enough. A holiday comedy that is a laden table of side dishes, missing the meat.
Nomadland [2020]
Based on a book with the same name, Nomadland already won three out of its five nominations at the Academy Awards. It’s not really waiting for me to review it but here we are.
Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse [2021]
Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse has one redeeming feature and it’s Michael B. Jordan. He’s the only reason I wanted to watch this movie.
Thunder Force [2021]
Thunder Force should be super thankful that Octavia Spencer accepted this role. Spencer is the only reason I was able to finish watching this movie without dreading this 1h and 46min wrong decision.
The War with Grandpa [2020]
The War with Grandpa is a funny but mostly pointless movie. It will leave you with a handful of laughs, and a lot of questions about what the talented cast was thinking when they signed on.
TINA [2021]
Standing at almost two hours long, TINA tells the story of Tina Turner in chronological chapters mixing footage from a new interview with archival tapes.
The One And Only Ivan [2020]
With The One And Only Ivan, Disney does what it does best. A family-oriented movie with an emotional story and a lesson for kids: Wild animals do not belong in cages.
The White Tiger [2021]
The White Tiger is a well-acted and beautifully made movie that transforms its source material into a grimly compelling drama that also feels very contemporary.
Cherry [2021]
Tom Holland is everything in Cherry. He’s carrying the whole movie on his shoulders. The good and not so good parts.
The Secrets We Keep [2020]
The Secrets We Keep doesn’t waste anytime letting the viewer know what’s going on. Less than 15 minutes into it’s 1h37min run, you already know the whole story. And it just goes stale from there.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League [2021]
After a lot of campaigning from fans and the actors themselves, we finally get to the Justice League, the way Zack Snyder wanted to do it. It’s completely different, and long.
Moxie [2021]
There’s not much to say about Moxie. Haven’t we seen enough movies about a problematic white teen? This sweet coming-of-age story comes up a little too short when it comes to fully addressing its story’s timely themes.
Eddie the Eagle [2016]
The story of Eddie Edwards (Taron Egerton), the notoriously tenacious British ski jumper who charmed the world at the 1988 Winter Olympics with the help of the most unlikely coach, Bronson Peary (Hugh Jackman).
