The Beekeeper [2024] – Jason Statham, Emmy Raver-Lampman

The Beekeeper cements Jason Statham as the new B-Movies action star. He’s been on a roll and getting better.

We all know the action movie formula at this point. However, The Beekeeper uses it to its advantage.

It is exactly what you expect: Statham is a badass, his opponents are perpetually outmatched, and the supporting cast is made up of a selection of incredible talent who are essentially along for the ride. He stings his way up the political food chain in a very stupid and very entertaining action thriller.

What happens if John Wick was an actual beekeeper? Get it? Delivering a strong “Go pollinate yourself” message, the over-the-top storyline is loads of fun as Statham parodies himself to protect the literal and figurative hive.

Twists, revenge, blood, explosions, and a hero. This movie has it all. If anything, Miramax might have just found its John Wick.

Should You Watch It?

The Beekeeper is a notch above the average action movie. Yes, we’ve seen it all, but this one is actually entertaining enough for me to watch it again. A popcorn movie that I’m interested to see more than once.
