Deli Boys – Season One [2025] on Hulu / Disney Plus

Deli Boys is a fun and outlandish romp that doesn’t make any sense. Yet, it’s absolutely a blast and one of the most bingeable shows in a while.

Deli Boys has crackling chemistry, absurd jokes and, at times, a squishy loveable centre. Starring Asif Ali, Saagar Shaikh & Poorna Jagannathan, the show starts with a murder straight from the get-go and gets weirder and more fun as it progresses.

To be honest, Poorna Jagannathan steals the show in this Hulu’s darkly comedic thriller. I want her to be my Auntie. The 10-episode first season is full of hijinks and heart, centering on fully realized, flawed South Asian protagonists whose culture is seamlessly integrated into the mix.

This is a rare show that is influenced by a specific culture, yet still digestible by everyone. Swiftly paced, each episode has more jokes that land than not and it’s a fun, absurd take on characters you rarely see on screen. You never know if a moment will turn into a deep reflection on modern or just a goofy punchline, and it’s precisely this unpredictable cocktail of insight and absurdity had me glued to the TV.

If you sign up for the ride for no other reason, rest easy knowing that you will find some of the best one-liners out there, buried inside an over-the-top and hilarious show overall.

Should You Watch It?

While it feels weird to say “representation matters” in relation to shows about organized crime, it’s still true. Deli Boys deserves a second season.
