Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – Season Four [2026] on Paramount Plus

Strange New Worlds season four is a fantastic encapsulation of the franchise. It’s a fun, innovative exploration of the human condition. It takes its name very seriously — you don’t know what strange is till you watch this season, apparently.

While Star Trek has always been experimental, this season takes it to the second level. Knowing the heavy lift needed to wrap up the story in its final and shortened season, SNW had no right to be this experimental.

While its previous season introduced a lot of the original characters, and set the ground for the final journey, it still balanced experimental with traditional trek. My only comment about this season? Too much experimentation and not enough Trek.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a fantastic season that I enjoyed, a lot. However, I would have loved a bit more balance and not rushing out tidying and pushing some plots in the final episode, to course correct for the next shortened season.

All in all, for viewers who’ve been following the show since the beginning, this is another highly enjoyable season, with a slight course correction for past missteps. The show, and crew, are not-so-slowly looking like the TOS.

Should You Watch It?

After a stellar third series, this season feels a bit shaky. It’s good, but too experimental for a show getting ready to wrap up its story as the prequel for the original series of Star Trek.
