Twisted Metal – Season Two [2025] on Peacock/Paramount+

With season two, Twisted Metal feels finally twisted. It finally feels like an adaptation of the games that the show promised.

The second season of this Peacock Original has finally embraced the weirdness of the franchise. While the first season introduced us to the main characters, it felt like a Need For Speed show instead of a twisted adventure.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m still not fully sold on this video game adaptation. While the show has improved because it remembered that character development is as important as anything else, It didn’t learn enough from its first season.

Yes, this season is lot less mentally tiring to watch, and introduces Calypso (Anthony Carrigan), the show still rests very heavily on Mackie’s impressive shoulders. He’s the lead actor and also an executive producer. So much of the show relies on his game performance, his ability to shift gears at the drop of a hat, and he holds nothing back. That can only take the show so far if Peacock intends to keep renewing it.

Should You Watch It?

It’s the newfound juggling of game elements and traditional TV dramedy moments that makes this season a blast from start to finish, whether you’re in it as a fan of the game or just trying to stave off the tournament drama withdrawal.
