Season two of The Lincoln Lawyer picks up right after the first with a new crime mystery and a new trial. A crime within a crime.
I haven’t read the books, but season two of The Lincoln Lawyer cements the show as a light version of How To Get Away With Murder. Sex, comedy, with a sprinkle of legal subjects and court.
Not as gritty as the first outing, Mickey Haller is now a famous lawyer with enough budget for a driver, employees, and an ofice. Still, the second season, succeeds because of the quirky characters, engaging mysteries, and the dynamic turn by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo.
Part legal drama, part relationship drama, and easily consumable in its network television-style format and tone, this season pushes the style and wit in addition to great chemistry between its core cast even further. I can see at least four or five more seasons being produced.
Plus, I can’t praise Becki Newton enough. She’s the shining bright star of this whole show (sorry Garcia-Rulfo!). She brings the heart, the comedy, and the reality check in this season.
Should you watch it?
This is one of those shows that won’t leave a big impression on you after you watch it, but it’s got enough good stuff going on to make it an enjoyable, pulpy watch. Onward to season 3!
Where can I watch it?
You can stream The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix everywhere
