Season two of Hulu’s Paradise fixes most of the issues, delivers a compelling character driven story, and lots of action.
In fact, creator Dan Fogelman feels finally comfortable with this show. Borrowing the best of Lost and The Leftovers to create a compelling and thrilling narrative, the eight episodes will take you through an emotional journey of humanity, survival, hope and profound kindness while watching our characters trying to survive the apocalypse.
Whether inside the bunker or beyond it, Paradise’s sophomore effort remains engagingly earnest and cleverly plotted. If you’re not used to Fogelman’s storytelling, the first two episodes might confuse you, keep watching. Have faith! Even though the episodes jump around in locations and time, as events fall into place, there are nail-biting sequences brewing that produce dreadful excitement as the story rockets us towards an unknown potential catastrophe.
While the new characters bring an extra amazing layer to this season, Sterling K. Brown and Shailene Woodley successfully manage to set the stage for some great performances over the season, starting with the first two episodes. Brown proves that he’s a force to be reckoned with, even when the episode is not focused on his character.
Final verdict on this sophomore season: Brilliant? Nope. Great? Definitely. Bingeable? Oh my yes.

Season two delivers an expanded universe outside the bunker, with a slew of new characters that make a compelling 8 episodes, while also feeling a bit like This Is Us.
