Welcome To Wrexham Season 3 leans on the strength and heart of a community, but also infuses with the humor of Reynolds and McElhenney.
Just when you think you’re tired of Reynolds and McElhenney, the show hits you with an episode about the community, or the team members and their family. There’s always something.
The show evolves with the team while staying true to its humble origins. Just like its two previous two seasons, the series once again highlights the ups and downs as the Wrexham AFC club entered the EFL League 2 in hopes of winning back-to-back promotions. #NoSpoilers, but they end up winning again!
In fact, my only issue with this season is Reynolds himself and his relentless push to cross promote his things. Yes, some might call it jealousy, but some scenes in this season felt more like a trailer, or behind the scenes look, for Deadpool & Wolverine instead of actually a documentary about football. I appreciate his work ethics, but let’s not make it a thing for the next season.
Yes, season three isn’t exactly about the same plucky underdog team anymore. But as long as the show’s producers continue to emphasize the team’s connections with its fans and city, it’s a win in my book.
Should You Watch It?
Season 3 is still as light, entertaining, and educational as the previous ones. However, this installment feels more of a Deadpool promotional documentary than anything.
Where Can I Watch It?
